BHEL R&D yields 8 p.c. of turnover
NEW DELHI:
The Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) has achieved a turnover of Rs 1,151 crore during 2005-06 through products developed by in-house research and development operations. This was eight per cent of its total revenue of Rs. 14,410 crore in 2005-06, according to a company release.
It said this was the result of a constant thrust on developing new technologies and products, and improving existing products and systems in terms of reliability, cost and quality through in-house R&D efforts. The company invested about Rs. 150 crore on research and development of products and systems during the year.
