Services of 5 police officers on extension terminated

CHENNAI: The Tamil Nadu Government has terminated with immediate effect the services of five Superintendents of Police, who had been granted extension by the previous government.

Two of them belonged to Chennai city police.

`No longer required'

The order issued to an officer stated, "as his continuance in service was no longer required in public interest, he shall retire on the afternoon of May 16."
