TAMBARAM:
An Airman undergoing training at the Indian Air Force Station, Tambaram, was found dead inside the premises of the Air Force Station on Wednesday.
Selaiyur police identified the victim as Narendar Singh, of Uttaranchal. The 20-year-old trainee was reported missing from his barracks on May 8. Three days later, IAF authorities lodged a complaint with the Selaiyur police station.
Enquiries revealed that the youth had not reached home.
Early on Wednesday morning, one of the employees noticed a body hanging from a tree in a desolate and remote corner of the IAF Station and alerted senior officers.
The body was mutilated beyond recognition and the identity was established based on some clues and marks, police said, adding investigations were on.
