MYSORE: It was a wedding with a difference in Mysore on Friday. The bridegroom, a budding artist, had displayed his paintings in the hall where the marriage function was held, a move that caught many people by surprise. H. Shivakumar displayed many of his works at the Chikkamma Niketana Community Hall where he married Vinuta in the presence of his family and friends. A student of Sri Kalaniketana School of Arts, Mr. Shivakumar teaches painting at Amrita Vidyalaya. Among those who were present to bless the couple and inaugurate the exhibition were the noted writer H.S. Krishna Swamy Iyengar, the theatre personality Rajashekara Kadamba, Rangayana deputy director M.G. Sadanandaiah and Sri Kalaniketana School of Arts principal K.C. Mahadeva Shetty. Mr. Shivakumar had displayed 30 watercolours on canvas depicting flowers and waterfalls. While many art enthusiasts visited the temporary `art gallery' at the community hall, a number of the artist's friends and relatives also got a chance to see his works.
