`New Police Commissioner for Bangalore soon'

BANGALORE: Chief Minister H.D. Kumaraswamy on Tuesday indicated that a new Police Commissioner for Bangalore would be appointed.

On who would replace the incumbent, Ajai Kumar Singh, Mr. Kumaraswamy said: "Wait for two days, you will get to know." He was addressing presspersons at the police medals presentation ceremony at the Raj Bhavan.

Prominent among the frontrunners are Additional Director-Generals of Police Jija Madhavan Harisingh, Subash Bharani, Shankar Mahadev Bidari and K.V. Ravindranath Tagore.

In March first week, Mr. Ajai Kumar Singh was promoted as Director-General of Police. The State Government decided to continue him in the post of Bangalore Police Commissioner by upgrading it.
