WORCESTER: Sri Lanka lost by 10 wickets to England's backup team on Saturday, five days before the first Test at Lord's. Resuming at 68 for five and 12 runs short of avoiding an innings defeat, Sri Lanka was bowled out for 118 and England `A' reached the target of 39 with more than a day to spare in the four-day game. The scores: Sri Lanka 179 (J. Lewis six for 49) and 118 lost to England `A' 259 (R. Key 63; Kulasekara four for 83) and 41 for no loss. AP
