Special Correspondent

Mumbai: The Board of Control for Cricket in India has paid Rs. 15 lakhs to each member of the Indian team that was selected for the DLF Cup two-match series against Pakistan.

The short series was played in Abu Dhabi on April 18 and 19. BCCI sources said the support staff was also paid a handsome amount of Rs. 5 lakhs each.

The two-match series against Pakistan was scheduled during India's tour of Pakistan in order to raise money for the earthquake victims in Pakistan and Kashmir. The Indian players donated the match fees of one match to the relief fund.

The BCCI had sold the marketing rights of the DLF Cup to the Dubai-based Percept D' Mark International for $3.61 million and the off shore global media rights to Zee Telefilms for $219 million for 25 one-day internationals over a period of five years against Pakistan, Australia, England and West Indies. The revenue from the two matches against Pakistan played at Abu Dhabi was around Rs. 95 crores.
