Bag containing cash snatched from woman

The scooter-borne men snatched It when the victim was returning home

BANGALORE: Two scooter-borne men allegedly snatched a shoulder bag containing Rs. 72,000 in cash from a woman in Indiranagar Police Station limits on Saturday. In a complaint to the police, Raghu, husband of the victim, Susheela (48), said she was returning home after attending a meditation session when the incident occurred.

Susheela works at Canara Bank, Neelasandra branch. Raghu works for Vijaya Bank at its Head Office, the police said.

The victim boarded an autorickshaw from the meditation centre and got off it near her house on 8th Cross, 11th Main at 9 p.m. The men snatched the bag with the cash when she was walking on 11th Main, the complaint said. The complainant said the victim's friend had given her the cash to purchase a demand draft. Indiranagar Police have registered a case. Investigation is on.

Robbed

Two men relieved a software engineer of Rs. 2,000 in cash and a mobile phone handset at knifepoint in the Yeshwantpur police station limits on Saturday.

In his complaint, the victim, Saroj Babu, a native of Andhra Pradesh, said he was going back to his room at LIC Colony with his friend when the incident occurred.

He said the men brandished a knife and relieved him of the cash and phone. Yeshwantpur Police have registered a case. Investigation is on.
