Prime Minister down with `mild flu'

New Delhi: Prime Minister Manmohan Singh was down with "mild flu" and all his official engagements for Thursday evening were cancelled, according to Sanjay Baru, media adviser to the Prime Minister.

A scheduled Cabinet meeting was also cancelled.

According to Mr. Baru, Friday being a "Government holiday," the Prime Minister hopes to get three days of complete rest.

UNI reports:

Official sources pointed out that the Prime Minister had chaired a meeting of the Chief Ministers of the States affected by naxalite violence. He sat through the proceedings for over two hours, the sources said..

Earlier, he hosted breakfast for the six Chief Ministers and held discussions.
