SIVAGANGAI: Seven teams — Chennai (Pool A), Ariyalur (Pool B), Madurai (Pool C), Tirunelveli (Pool D), Sivagangai (Pool E), Virudhunagar (Pool F) and Coimbatore (Pool G) qualified for the quarterfinals in the Kandasamy Memorial Trophy State sub-junior inter-district hockey championship on Thursday. The eighth team from Pool H will be known on Friday morning after the match between Nilgiris and Salem. The results (league): Pool A: Chennai 3 (Balaji 2, Vikram) bt Dindigul 0. Pool G: Coimbatore 4 (Ranjith, Ashok, Sunil, Arun) bt Tuticorin 1 (Murugesan) via tiebreaker, regulation time 0-0. Pool H: Cuddalore 3 (Kannan 2, Saravanan) bt Salem 1 (Nadeen).
