Yuki stuns Vikram

NEW DELHI: Local lad Yuki Bhambri emphasised his potential yet again as he beat the top-seeded B. Vikram Reddy of Andhra Pradesh 7-6(1), 7-5 in the quarterfinals of the Hindustan Times AITA National series under-16 tennis tournament at the Yamuna Sports Complex here on Thursday.

It was a strong statement from the 14-year-old Yuki, against a player who will be representing the country in the Asia-Oceania junior (under-16) Davis Cup competition at Jakarta in a fortnight.

Yuki will next meet another probable for the junior Davis Cup squad, the third-seeded Sriram Balaji of Tamil Nadu.

In the other semifinal, qualifier Karun Uday Singh will challenge the second-seeded Vijayant Malik of Chandigarh.
