Delhi High Court gets Acting Chief Justice

NEW DELHI:
President A.P.J. Abdul Kalam on Friday appointed Justice Vijender Jain as Acting Chief Justice of the Delhi High Court.
Mr. Justice Jain will replace Chief Justice M. Katju who has been elevated to the Supreme Court.
Mr. Justice Jain will start functioning as the Acting Chief Justice "with effect from the date Mr. Justice Katju relinquishes the charge of the office", a Union Ministry of Law and Justice notification said.
Mr. Justice Jain joined the Bar here in 1969 and was appointed a permanent Judge of the Delhi High Court in 1992.
