Students display their creative talent

RECOGNISING TALENT: Shamala Ganesh, Director of Ohara School of Ikebana, inaugurating `Chinnara Kalakruthi' at The East-West School.

BANGALORE: It was an exhibition of a different kind at The East-West School, Basavanagudi. Students of the higher primary section displayed the works created by them during art and craft classes at "Chinnara Kalakruthi."

The students displayed landscapes and still lifes in poster colours, pencils and crayons. Works using colour paper and wool were also on display.

The exhibition also had a sales section managed by the students under the guidance of staff. Shamala Ganesh, Director of Ohara School of Ikebana, inaugurated the exhibition.

Graduation day

National Public School, Rajajinagar, celebrated its graduation day for the academic year 2005-2006 for Class XII recently. The evening began with a melodious invocation song, which was followed by the lighting of the lamp by dignitaries.

Srikanth Hoskote, Senior Director, CISCO systems, was the guest of honour and he shared his views on life with the students.

The evening unfolded with reflections and thanksgiving from parents and students with events such as handing over of oath scrolls and lighting of candles. The students then took the oath and sang their school song, "Shine on us." Principal Santhamma Gopalakrishna declared the class of 2006 "high school graduates."

Farewell

Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan's Nagarjuna Vidyaniketan, Yelahanka, bid adieu to its Standard X students at a function held on the school premises. The function began with the lighting of the "lamp of knowledge" by dignitaries.

Principal Shobha H. Bhat administered the oath of honour to the students. Anu Thomas, Principal of Kendriya Vidyalaya Sanghatan, CRPF campus, was the chief guest, and she advised the students to choose the path of truth and righteousness.
