Government for AI-Indian merger

Special Correspondent

NEW DELHI: The Government on Tuesday indicated that it was, in principle, in favour of merger of Air India and Indian.

"In principle, we are thinking along the lines of merger of Air India and Indian. You will get to hear more about it in the next few weeks," Civil Aviation Minister Praful Patel told reporters. He refused to say when the Initial Public Offer being planned by the two airlines would hit the market. "Wait for a few weeks, the picture will become clear."
