Karunanidhi writes to Tandon
Special Correspondent
CHENNAI:
The Election Commission clarification that ongoing relief schemes could go on, would be interpreted by the AIADMK Government as "a green signal to implement all Government orders issued before March 1," DMK president M.Karunanidhi has said.
In a letter to Chief Election Commissioner B.B.Tandon, a copy of which was released to the Press, he said the AIADMK Government was "frantically relying on the doles they proposed to distribute to the people. Now your announcement would come in handy."
"Further, since you do not have the list of beneficiaries identified by the State Government before March 1, 2006 for distribution of benefits, there is every possibility of the State Government manipulating the list by including additional beneficiaries," he said and asked Mr.Tandon to take "precautionary measures."
