NEW DELHI: Bhai Mohan Singh, who founded pharmaceutical major Ranbaxy Laboratories, passed away on Monday, family sources said. He was 89.

A Padma Vibhushan awardee, Mr. Singh was the man who built India's first pharma superbrand, Calmpose, in 1968. However, he was ousted by his son, Parvinder Singh, in a boardroom battle in the 1990s. Among his two other sons, Analjit Singh is the Chairman of the Max Group. — PTI
