On a success spree

Special Correspondent

CHENNAI: G. Archana Rajaram, Gayatri Khandhadai and Lavanya Subbarayan together have become a sort of winning machine for Dr. Ambedkar Government Law College.

Recently, the trio swept every award at the First Natural Resources Law, Justice R.K. Tanka Memorial National Moot Court Competition, held at National Law Institute University in association with the High Court of Madhya Pradesh between March 17 and 19. The team beat 20 other law schools from the country.

Archana, who has won over eight such competitions in the last five years, won the `Best Speaker' award. The team won the award for the `Best Memorial' (written submission) and were the highest scoring team right from the preliminary rounds. Each of them had well-defined roles in the competition. Archana and Gayatri took sides and argued for and against while Lavanya played the researcher.

The recent competition, which took them three weeks of preparation, was based on hypothetical facts on the subject of inter-State water disputes and riparian rights.
