Non-transport vehicles tax collection from March 27

CHENNAI: Annual tax for non-transport vehicles such as cars, jeeps and motorcycles for 2006-2007 will be collected from March 27 to April 10 between 10 a.m. and 1.30 p.m. on all working days, including Saturdays.

To help the public pay the tax without difficulty, more counters will be opened, besides those at the eight regional transport offices in Chennai, including Meenambakkam. For non-transport vehicles, which have completed 15 years from the date of registration, Green Tax has to be paid. Those who have not yet paid the Green Tax should pay it at the time of paying the annual MV tax.
