New MD appointed for Bangalore metro

BANGALORE: V. Madhu, who was on Central deputation and was serving as Joint Secretary, Cabinet Secretariat, took over on Friday as Managing Director of Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Ltd. (BMRC).

Principal Secretary to the Department of Urban Development, Shamim Banu, handed over charge to Mr. Madhu. Ms. Banu held additional charge of the post after K.N. Srivastava was transferred.

Mr. Madhu has served as Managing Director, Karnataka Power Transmission Corporation Ltd., and as Commissioner, Commercial Taxes in the State.

Mr. Madhu held a meeting with the BMRC officials on its existing premises on Infantry Road Cross. The inauguration of new office in the Shanthinagar bus station building and implementation of the project figured at the meeting, it is learnt.
