Unforgettable visit, says Bush

HYDERABAD: US President George W. Bush has thanked Chief Minister Y. S. Rajasekhara Reddy for the "gracious hospitality" accorded to him and his wife Laura during their visit to Hyderabad on March 3.

In a handwritten letter to Dr. Reddy, which was delivered through US Charge d' Affaires Robert O. Blake Jr, the President said he had enjoyed the trip to the "important" State. (Mr. Bush and his wife had spent more than three hours at the Acharya N.G. Ranga Agriculture University where he interacted with farmers and the Indian School of Business where he spoke to budding entrepreneurs).

"The agriculture centre was most interesting, as was the business school", Mr. Bush wrote and thanked the Chief Minister for the "wonderful" gifts presented to them on their departure. "It is clear to me that the people of your State hold you in high esteem. Thank you for leading," he added.

YSR mighty pleased

Reciprocating the feelings, Dr. Reddy said in a press release on Saturday, he noted that "our hospitality has touched the heart of President Bush", he

said.

"The visit has placed Andhra Pradesh on a new pedestal and given it a distinct recognition in the agriculture-driven economies world over."

"I am glad that my dream of presenting my farmer and hard-working sisters (self-help groups) as role models not only to the country but to the world has been realised through this visit," he said.
