Letters to the Editor
The Israeli military attack on a jail in Jericho, West Bank, to secure six Palestinians accused of involvement in the murder of an Israeli Minister in 2001 has a lesson or two for India. It is well known that Pakistan-aided militants are creating havoc in India. They retreat to the safe haven across the border after striking terror in our cities because we do not follow the policy of hot pursuit like Israel.
Sharada Sagar Poldoss,
* * * The West Asia crisis is escalating to horrific proportions in the post-Arafat era. It is also clear that the war-happy and distinctly pro-Israeli Bush administration's warped prescription for promoting democracy all over the world is boomeranging on it, with both the Iranians and the Palestinians voting anti-West hardliners to power.
Nalini Vijayaraghavan,
