High command behind Tiwari's resignation?

K. V. Prasad

NEW DELHI: The resignation of Uttaranchal Chief Minister N. D. Tiwari has apparently been engineered by the party high command.

Mr. Tiwari's sudden announcement of resignation was received here with both surprise and muted expectation. Party sources said the message had been conveyed to the Chief Minister by two emissaries. Motilal Vora, in charge of affairs of the State, said that he was not aware of the development.
