Special prison adalat

CHENNAI: With a view to spreading legal aid awareness among prisoners, two sitting Judges of Madras High Court are to visit Chennai Central Prison on Saturday and oversee "special prison adalat" there. Justice M. Karpagavinayagam, who is the executive chairman of the Tamil Nadu State Legal Services Authority, and Justice M. Jaichandren will participate in the event. According adalat counsel V. Kannadasan, the special adalat will take up 60 cases for consideration. It is to be conducted by the 13th Metropolitan Magistrate K. Ramanathan.
