Auto strike: RTC to run specials

HYDERABAD: APSRTC Hyderabad City Region will run special buses to and from railway stations at Secunderabad and Nampally, Secretariat, Jubilee Bus Station and Mahatma Gandhi Bus Station, Imliban from the early hours of Friday till late into the night.

Regional Manager C. Panduranga Murthy said special arrangements were being made in view of the proposed strike by autorickshaws on Friday. Special buses will operate from Kacheguda and Begumpet railway stations till 9 p.m. All buses touching Nampally will be extended up to the railway station till 9 p.m.

Shuttle services will be organised from important points such as Lakidikapul, Ameerpet, Nampally, Koti, Secunderabad station, Dilsukhnagar, Ramanthpur, Kushaiguda, Kukatpally and Balanagar. All spare buses will be pressed into service on the high-density routes and scheduled bus services will be run without cancellation.

Mr. Murthy, in a press release, said more buses will be deployed if need be and depot managers/traffic supervisors will be posted at major traffic points to monitor operations.
