CPI(M) opposes MCH move on property tax

Staff Reporter

HYDERABAD : The City committee of the Communist Party of India (Marxist) has opposed the efforts of the Municipal Corporation of Hyderabad to increase tax on the pretext of revising area-wise property tax.

Committee secretary P.S.N. Murthy in a release said that the MCH in its City Development Plan submitted to the Central Government under Jawaharlal Nehru National Renewal Mission promised increase in property tax every year.

The committee called upon people to protest against property tax hike and other reforms that would burden them.
