Will he or won't he?
Will the first citizen of Hyderabad get to be at the airport to receive the First Citizen of United States? All indications as of now are that Mayor Teegala Krishna Reddy will not be part of the welcoming party.
With a flowing ceremonial black robe, Mr. Reddy was always prominent whenever VVIPs came to the twin cities. But, this time it looks like he might not be around when the US President George Bush and his wife, Laura Bush land here as till late night his office had received no intimation.
The Mayor is already cut up with the Congress Government alleging that it has not been following protocol and has been trying to undermine his position ever since it came to power. As per protocol the Mayor occupies a pride of place along with Chief Minister and the Governor in the city.
