Unaided schools' plea for funds
THIRUVANANTHAPURAM:
The Kerala Recognised School Managers Association has urged the State Government to end its alleged "step-motherly" attitude towards unaided schools in the State.
Addressing a press conference here, association general secretary V.K. Jayakumar said these schools were finding the going tough owing to lack of adequate financial and other assistance from the Government. This was despite the fact that unaided schools were well-equipped and had well-trained teachers. Students from these schools often obtained high ranks in State-level examinations and performed well in school youth festivals.
However, unaided schools were not allowed to conduct NCC or other service schemes. Education Minister E.T. Mohammed Basheer will inaugurate the association's annual conference here on Wednesday.
