Foundation for Law Department block laid

CHANDIGARH: The Union Minister of State for Finance, Pawan Kumar Bansal,on Saturday laid the foundation stone of the Department of Laws Block II, Punjab University at the P.U. Campus here.

The Block II will have a moot court, space and provision for special lectures, classrooms and rooms for the faculty.

Mr. Bansal said that men in public service should strive to find a place in the hearts of the common man and recalled his days as a student in the Department 35 years ago.

He expressed his indebtedness to his alma mater and called the period spent in the College and the University as a period of great significance.

Mr. Bansal expressed his happiness in inaugurating the block, which would provide more facilities to the students, as in the world of competition it was imperative to muster courage and resources to sustain. He also promised his whole-hearted support to the University.

The Vice-Chancellor, K.N. Pathak, felicitated Mr. Bansal on his elevation as a Union Minister and termed it as long overdue and well-deserved.
