Pulp and paper meet

CHENNAI : A two-day national conference on "Eco-friendly technologies for pulp and paper industries" is being organised by the Indian Pulp and Paper Technical Association here on February 24 and 25.

Speaking to newsmen, the president of the association K.S.Kasi Viswanathan said that the industry faced issues such as increasing demand for paper, cheaper imports, environmental pressures and regulations and stricter compliance norms.

The industry was working at identifying means to improve the cost structure, quality, consistency and productivity while ensuring compliance with environmental norms.
