On the CM's birthday

Tamil Nadu's political theatre is getting hotter and the warmth is naturally spreading to filmdom, which for years has remained intricately connected with politics.

The forthcoming election is ensuring that the gap is narrowing down fast.

Hardly then was it surprising when actors owing allegiance to the ruling All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam trooped into Kalikambal temple on Thambu Chetty Street, George Town, on Thursday morning to offer special prayers for Chief Minister Jayalalithaa. The day was her 58th birthday.

Actors S.S. Chandran, Radha Ravi, Vijaykumar and Murali participated in the function and helped to pull a special chariot.
