Chill out at Courtyard Marriott

Did you know? Marriott is in Chennai! Courtyard Marriott replaces the closed down Sri Lekha International at the same place here. One finds it hard to believe that the new operators have retained the shell of the Sri Lekha.

It was a soft launch for the major hotel chain on January 29. Insiders say that this was because the hotel had not received its bar license yet. Once the license comes through, one hopes that there will a formal launch.

JW Marriott too will be in Chennai soon, if sources are to be believed.

Traders Hotel has changed it's name to Accord Metropolitan. Throwing out brand chains is nothing new. One of the better properties in Langkawi, Thanjung Rhu, threw out Radisson saying that the chain did not do much for the business of the hotel. That was vintage 1999.
