AIBA seeks CJI intervention
In a statement issued here on Saturday, the chairman and the vice-chairman of the AIBA, Adish C. Agarwala and S. Prabhakaran said the legal fraternity in the country were agitated over the action of the Inspector of Police, Anna Nagar, Madurai, in filing a case against V.C. Sankara Narayanan and two others. It was curious to note that no action was taken by the Director General of Police against the Inspector, despite a direction by the Madras High Court to take action against him in a case of forgery. But Marimuthu registered a case against Mr. Sankara Narayanan. His friend Antony was arrested and one Ashok, cited as a witness, was also arrayed as an accused. To restore confidence in the rule of law, the AIBA wanted the CJI to prevail on the State administration to take action against the delinquent officer. Legal Correspondent
