Hyderabad: Activists of the Darsgah Jihad-o-Shahadat (DJS) tried to take out a rally on Thursday to protest against the offending cartoons on the Prophet of Islam and the forthcoming visit of American President George Bush to Hyderabad. However, police arrested the DJS workers as no permission was given for the rally.

The rally was to be taken out from the DJS office in Moghalpura to the State Assembly. There was heavy police bandobust and the rallyists were not allowed to come on to the road. The DJS workers led by its vice president M.A. Majeed raised slogans against the US and Denmark and burnt the effigy of George Bush and the Denmark president.
