Hyderabad: The Congress Legislature Party (CLP) criticised the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) for stalling the business of the House over Polavaram issue on Thursday. Dubbing the TRS stand as "irrational and illogical," Government Chief Whip N. Kiran Kumar Reddy said the former was holding the House to ransom on a non-issue. The Government had included Polavaram project in the Jalayagnam in the larger interest of the State and benefits had been explained to people and political parties a number of times. The Government had held on-site debates on the projects in addition to three rounds of consultations with all political parties. There was ample scope to discuss the issue when the debate on Irrigation would come up. The Business Advisory Committee of the House had even advanced the discussion on irrigation in view of its importance. The House had already discussed Jalayagnam for about 20 hours in the past, he reminded the TRS leaders. He said it was unfortunate that the TRS adamantly stalled the House ignoring the pleas of the majority.
