High Court pulls up CBI

Staff Reporter

NEW DELHI: Pulling up the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) for adopting dilatory tactics in the investigation of revival of 41 cooperative group housing societies that were allotted land after 2000 and where constructions has been completed and people were at present residing, the Delhi High Court on Monday warned that it would summon the agency's Director if the investigation was not carried out expeditiously.

A Division Bench comprising Justice Vijender Jain and Justice Rekha Sharma observed this when counsel for the agency Harish Gulati submitted that the agency was not able to investigate the matter as it was under-staffed.
