HYDERABAD: If the malls and showrooms coming up these days are any indication, it may well be the season of extravagant weddings. Showroom of silks and jewels, CMR Exclusive that was inaugurated on Raj Bhavan road on Friday comes close on the heels of malls for bridal wear, Kalaniketan and Brisah. An outlet of Chandana Brothers, the showroom has designer saris, bridal jewellery, silver ware, salwars and kurtas, gaghras and the like. J.Rama Rao, one of the managing partners, admits that the showroom caters mainly to the nouveau riche, NRIs, film stars and those who can plainly afford this kind of bridal wear.
Exchange facility
He says that the showroom has VVS1 quality gold, oxidised sets that Bollywood and Tollywood heroines mostly buy, triple colour jewellery and copper polished sets. "We also allow customers to exchange jewellery apart from taking corporate orders, repairing and polishing gold jewellery free of cost," he adds. Where the price range goes, jewellery of one tola costs Rs.7,460, while one gram costs Rs.746. The stones section has rubies, emeralds, diamonds and blue sapphires used on gold jewellery and pearl sets. A fancy bracelet with these stones can cost anything from Rs.10,000, while a bangle will cost you at least Rs.30,000. Apart from these, there are diamond jewellery and silver ware. Actress Sneha inaugurated the showroom.
