After initial hiccups, the JD (S)-BJP Government has become a reality in Karnataka. The JD (S) has been politically wise in observing the winds of change and opting out of the brand of secularism that is opposed to the BJP. Perhaps the days of ideologies such as the Indian brand of secularism and minorityism are numbered. The process of their decline began in 1977 when the Jana Sangh emerged as the single largest group in the Janata Party Government.
