BANGALORE: Air Deccan on Wednesday launched its operations to Kozhikode and Thiruvananthapuram from Bangalore. The carrier has introduced a 48-seater ATR 42-500 aircraft to serve the two sectors. On the Chennai-Thiruvananthapuram sector, Air Deccan has deployed a 180-seater Airbus A 320 aircraft. This service too was launched today. The Bangalore-Kozhikode daily flight will leave here at 3.15 p.m. to reach Kozhikode at 4.10 p.m. The return flight will start at 4.30 p.m. to reach Bangalore at 5.25 p.m. The flight to Thiruvananthapuram will leave here at 1.40 p.m. and reach the Kerala capital at 3.10 p.m. The return flight will leave at 3.35 p.m. to arrive at the Bangalore airport at 4.55 p.m. The Chennai-Thiruvananthapuram daily flight will leave Chennai at 2.10 p.m. and reach its destination at 4.10 p.m. after a stopover in Kochi. The return flight will start from Thiruvananthapuram at 4.40 p.m. and reach Chennai at 5.40 p.m. With the introduction of the new flights, Air Deccan, which operates low cost services, has strengthened its network in Southern India, according to the airline Managing Director, Capt. G.R. Gopinath.
