Bangalore: The 45th Travel and Tourism Fair (TTF), one of the region's largest such events, will be held at Sri Kanteerava Indoor Stadium from January 20 to 22. The fair is supported by India Tourism and Karnataka Tourism; Rajasthan and Andhra Pradesh are partner States. A delegation from Egypt is coming to Bangalore for the first time. Other States participating in the fair include Orissa, Tamil Nadu, Pondicherry, Goa, Himachal Pradesh, Kerala, Madhya Pradesh and Andaman and Nicobar Islands. According to those in the travel and tourism trade, more favourable winds are blowing now. Both foreign arrivals and domestic tourism have grown by double digits. One contributing factor has been low airfares for travel to some farflung areas and between cities. TTF Bangalore is bigger this year by 20 per cent; more States are participating. The fair will provide Bangaloreans with a one-stop opportunity for planning vacations, both within India and overseas. A number of travel and tourism organisations are present and ready to discuss individual needs and budgets. One interesting sidelight will be the Kashmir Food Festival, bringing in the aroma of saffron and other exotic spices from that scenic region.
