Power shutdown

CHENNAI: Power supply will be suspended in parts of Taramani on Monday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. for maintenance work.

Vaikunta Ekadasi

Vaikunta Ekadasi rituals will begin with Dasami Thirumanjanam on Monday at Sri Bhaktha Anjaneyar Temple on IV Street, AGS Colony at Kottivakkam. The vaikunta vasal will be thrown open on Tuesday morning. The temple is being renovated at a cost of Rs. 14 lakh with two-tier vimanam and a mahamandapam. For details contact 55461699/24927614.

Office-bearers

Young Men's Christian Association, Madras, has elected P.J. Vincent as president, Rev. Dr. Mano Daniel as vice-president and Selwyn Devadoss as treasurer of the association, whose board meeting was recently held.

SPB and Usha Uthup show

Two legends on one platform will be entertaining a crowd of over 12,000 at the Nehru Indoor Stadium on Sunday from 6 p.m. onwards. Usha Uthup and S.P. Balasubramanium will perform old numbers, patriotic songs and the latest hit songs in several Indian languages.

The tickets for the show, organised by Laxman Sruthi and TVK Cultural Academywill be available at the venue from 9 a.m.on Sunday.

World Reiki Day

Eye camp for MTC employees

More than 1,000 employees of the Metropolitan Transport Corporation were screened at a five-day eye camp held by Rajan Eye Care Hospital that concluded on Friday. A team of doctors led by Mohan Rajan, medical director of the hospital, identified that 26 employees were suffering from cataract. They were advised free surgery with intra-ocular lens implant at the hospital. Medicines and spectacles were given to over 460 employees.

The camps, part of safety week celebrations, were held at MTC Main office and at K.K. Nagar, T. Nagar, Tiruvanmiyur, Saidapet and Tambaram depots.
