Militant attack injures three, encounter on with forces
Srinagar:
Security forces have launched an operation to flush out militants who reportedly entered the Agriculture Office after a grenade attack at Sopore in Baramulla district on Thursday afternoon.
Official sources said militants hurled a grenade at a security force picket near a crowded bus stand at Sopore, about 55 km from here.
The grenade missed the intended target and exploded on the road, injuring three persons. The injured were hospitalised.
Later, militants opened fire from the adjacent Agriculture Office on the picket. Forces were rushed to the area from a nearby camp.
The area was cordoned off and efforts were on to flush out the militants. UNI
