NEW DELHI: Eicher Motors on Thursday unfolded its plan to make its commercial vehicle range more comprehensive by soon rolling out tippers and going in for higher tonnage vehicles, which it was developing in-house. "We have already piloted 4X2 tippers in certain specific segments such as mining and construction and plan to commercially launch them in the next few months," Eicher Motors Chief Executive, Rakesh Kalra, told newsmen here, while launching the new E2 range in the 7-11 tonne light commercial vehicle category.

Eicher, which offers vehicles in the 5-25 tonne range, is looking at making a further thrust in the heavy commercial vehicle market and has plans to launch vehicles going up to 40 tonnes.

The company said the new E2 range promised higher fuel efficiency. These products will be priced starting from Rs. 6.59 lakh (ex-showroom) for BSII to Rs. 6.96 lakh (ex-showroom) for BSIII.
