KOCHI: A three-day property show by Kerala Builders' Forum (KBF) will get underway at the Jawaharlal Nehru International Stadium here on Friday. This is the second of the shows by the KBF this year in Kochi in response to the increasing demand from customers, said George E. George, secretary of the forum. The KBF Property Expo is aimed both at the NRI and the local population, said Mr. George who also pointed out that banks and financial institutions that took part in the show in July sanctioned loans to the tunes of Rs.250 crores on the basis of enquiries at the Property Expo. Loans to the tune of Rs.115 crores was sanctioned based on the enquiries generated at the recent KBF property show in Dubai, he said. Thirty-two builders will participate in the Kochi show that is being held in a fully air-conditioned pavilion. Federal Bank, Union Bank, ICICI and HDFC are among the banks participating in the show. The show will be inaugurated by Governor R.L. Bhatia at 6 p. m. The show will be on between 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. on the expo days. The Property Expo will be a one-stop shop for housing requirements, said Mr. George who also pointed out that demand for houses in the State had gone up about 50 per cent over the last year.
