Forgettable outing for Armaan

Kuala Lumpur: Team India had a forgettable outing in the fifth leg of the inaugural A-1 Grand Prix at the rain-affected Sepang International Circuit here on Sunday with Armaan Ebrahim being excluded from the Feature Race.

Armaan, who had finished a commendable 11th in the preceding Sprint Race at the 5.54-km Circuit, collided with Pakistan's Adam Khan in the Feature Race.

Although Armaan continued the race after receiving a push start from the marshals, he was eventually excluded while the Pakistan driver never made it back to the pits.

France emerged as the winner with Alexandre Permat completing the 30 laps in one hour, 6.495 seconds. Switzerland's Neel Jani finished second with 1:00:11.051, while Czech Republic's Tomas Enge was third (1:00:22.184).

The Sprint Race had seen Ebrahim, who has replaced Karun Chandhok as the first driver, complete 15 laps in 29:42.935 seconds. India is yet to earn a point in the series. — PTI
