With his video screens, Muris steals the show

Mumbai: Muris Tabakovic, a Yugoslav who fled his ethnic-battle hit country in the early 1990s and settled down later in South Africa and created the Stella Vista video display screens, has impressed on four state cricket associations — Hyderabad, Karnataka, Bengal and Mumbai — to use his company product in the ongoing Pepsi India-South one-day international series. The video screens double up as electronic scoreboards, besides taking the feed from the Doordarshan for action replays.

The video screen was first used at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium during the India-Pakistan Test last March. "It's very good even during daylight. It can generate revenue in excess of Rs. 20 lakhs during a match," said Hyderabad Cricket Association secretary Shivlal Yadav after the first ODI of the Pepsi series last week. — Special Correspondent
