NEW DELHI: The Delhi High Court Legal Services Committee on Saturday settled more than 175 cases in a Lok Adalat held at the Court premises to the satisfaction of the parties involved. The Committee consisting of six former High Court judges -- Justice Usha Mehra, Justice Satpal, Justice H.C. Jain, Justice R.P. Gupta and Justice P.N. Nag and Sharda Aggarwal -- took up a total of 300 cases connected with house tax, power, service and bank loans disputes for consideration. The Delhi High Court Chief Justice M. Katju, Justice Vijender Jain, Patron and Chairman respectively of the Committee, and its Secretary, Dilbagh Singh, were present in the Adalat. In his address, Mr. Justice Katju said more and more people should approach Lok Adalats to get their cases settled through this inexpensive and time saving alternative disputes resolution forum.
