Police confirm use of deadly RDX in serial blasts

  • No clue yet on the identity of the culprits
  • Raids at suspected hide-outs have drawn a blank

NEW DELHI: Even as the intelligence agencies are working on suspected involvement of at least eight terrorist modules in the serial blasts that rocked the Capital a week ago, the Delhi police are yet to make a breakthrough in any of the three cases.

It is learnt that the police have so far not come across any clues that could help them identify those behind the explosions. They have been carrying out raids at suspected hideouts of terrorists in and around the Capital, but to no avail. The Special Cell of the Delhi police has been scanning mobile phone and public booth records in a bid to get some valuable inputs. The raids mounted in Jharkhand, Bihar and Karnataka have also not yielded any results so far. "We have no other option but to keep on probing every possible angle," said a senior police officer.

While the police on Saturday confirmed that deadly RDX had been used in the blasts, they are still not sure about the identity of the terrorist outfit that was behind them. "We are getting a number of calls from the public regarding information about the Govindpuri bomb blast suspect, and are collecting the details from them for further investigations," the police officer added.
