Sheila inaugurates

coin exhibition

NEW DELHI: Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit on Friday inaugurated the Delhi Coin Exhibition 2005 organised by the Delhi Coin Society at YMCA Tourist Hostel on Jaisingh Road.

A number of numismatists have displayed their collections of rare coins and currency notes, some dating back to 1300 and 1857, at the two-day exhibition aimed at making people more aware of coins as a symbol of national and cultural heritage.

Minister's appeal

NEW DELHI: Delhi Health Minister Yoganand Shastri on Friday appealed to the medical community to join hands with the Government in handling all national calamities.

Inaugurating the 28th All-India Rhinoplasty Course organised here jointly by Moolchand Medcity and Dr. Sood Nasal Research Foundation, Dr. Shastri also suggested setting up of disaster management departments in all private sector establishments.

Advisory panel

NEW DELHI: The Central Government through a Gazette Notification of the Ministry of Labour and Employment has constituted its Central Advisory Committee with Dharm Vir Yadav as its Chairman.

Mr. Yadav, a social worker, has been serving as vice-president of the Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee.

Magic show

NEW DELHI: A magic show by Shankar and his group was organised for inmates of Tihar Central Jail here on Thursday by Prajapita Brahma Kumaris Ishwariya Vishwa Vidyalaya.

The programme in Jail No.2 was attended by the Director-General (Prisons), R. P. Singh, jail officials and other invited dignitaries. The programme began with jail inmates reciting religious songs.

NEW DELHI: The All-India Conference of Intellectuals has decided to confer "Delhi Ratan Award" on Prof. K. K. Aggarwal, Vice-Chancellor of Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University. Passes away

NEW DELHI: Scholar-activist Dilip Upadhyay passed away on Thursday night after a prolonged illness. He was 45.

A remembrance meeting will be held in JNU here on November 13.
