Manmohan greets Kalam

NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Manmohan Singh greeted President A.P.J. Abdul Kalam on the occasion of Id ul-Fitr on Friday. He was with the President for about 30 minutes, a Rashtrapati Bhavan spokesman said.

Vice-President Bhairon Singh Shekhawat, Home Minister Shivraj Patil, Delhi Lt-Governor B.L. Joshi and Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit called on him.

Earlier, he received greetings from the Rashtrapati Bhavan staff and members of the public. More than 2,000 people visited the Rashtrapati Bhavan and Mr. Kalam met each of them.

In the morning, he offered prayers at the Jama Masjid.
