Letters to the Editor
Pervez Musharraf's offer to throw open the Line of Control to allow Kashmiris on both sides to take part in the reconstruction work of quake-ravaged PoK, and its acceptance by India in principle, is proof of the growing ties between the two countries. It is hoped the present momentum is sustained so that all bilateral disputes can be resolved amicably.
A. Digu,
Under mounting pressure from both inside and outside Pakistan to accept the Indian offer of help, the General is now exploring the possibility of informal joint relief operations in PoK, which is better accessible from the Indian side. This surely marks a positive development.
Rosanne George,
President Musharraf's proposal and New Delhi's response have kindled hope among the people of both the countries. If it goes through, members of the divided families on either side of the LoC will be able to meet after decades. The General's initiative deserves wholehearted praise.
Dunna Ravi Prakash,
